The Delhi to Agra train route is one of the most budget-friendly travel options for you. The journey can take up to anywhere between 90 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the train you choose. One of the most popular and fastest options had to be the iconic Gatimaan Express. This train departs from Hazrat Nizamuddin Station and reaches Agra in 100 minutes. You can also go to Agra by Shatabdi Express. This train offers onboard meals and comfortable seating as well.
Now the ticket prices vary for general coaches around ₹100 to ₹700–₹1,500 for AC chair car and executive class. These trains are pretty safe, reliable, and run frequently, which makes them a perfect option.
By Road – Yamuna Expressway Scenic Drive
Now if you prefer a road trip like me. Delhi to Agra is a great option for a road trip. The Yamuna Expressway is a massive six-lane highway connecting the two beautiful cities which reduces travel time to around 3.5–4 hours. The expressway is smooth, well-maintained, and dotted with rest stops, restaurants, and fuel stations.

By Flight – Rarely Practical
Although there are flights from Delhi to Agra, they are infrequent and more expensive than trains or road travel. A flight takes about 1 hour, but by the time you factor in airport check-in and commute time, the total duration is almost the same as a train or road trip.
Unless you have very limited time or are arriving directly into Delhi airport and connecting to Agra, this option is not the most efficient.
Agra to Jaipur: Connecting the Mughal and Rajput Cities
By Road – NH21 and Fatehpur Sikri Stopover
The Jaipur to Agra road trip is quite a popular road trip of the Golden Triangle tour. The distance between these two cities is not much, approximately 240 km, and it takes about 4 to 5 hours by car. Along the way, you can make a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage site and which is also the former Mughal capital. It is around 40 km from Agra.
