Butterfly Park is a much-loved place within the highlands of Kandhamal and located within Daringbadi; it is also a beautiful spot with cool breezes that many refer to as either “Kashmir of Odisha” or the “Odiya-Kashmir”. As there are many trees that surround this area; they provide shade, along with a pleasant smell when breezes blow from above. Travelers often find themselves lingering longer than intended once they reach the soft earth beneath large pines.

ToggleThe Butterfly Park Daringbadi is more than simply a green area; it was designed by the Forest Department to promote eco-travel and protect local insect populations. Unlike many other nature parks, it was designed with the purpose of attracting a certain type of butterfly based on the placement of its plants and pathways.
Butterflies use various plants for both food and shelter in this perfectly designated area, which provides comfort on those very tall green hills. Walking the scenic paths, we will see Common Mormons flitting among the flowers, with Blue Tigers drifting silently above. The fluttering of their brightly coloured wings through the sunshine adds colour to the air while Golden Egg flies flutter through the flowers. Many cameras are used here to capture the intricate details of the live butterfly’s wings up close.
Daringbadi Nature Park has multiple different butterflies, as well as many original plants that surround it. A network of pathways leads past small gardens with benches in shady spots and colourful flowers along the pathways to attract butterflies as they slowly float around at their own pace. Nature continues to support itself through the elements of leaves, sunlight, and the butterflies’ colourful wings; life exists slowly in Daringbadi Nature Park. It’s easy to find a comfortable place to relax in this peaceful setting, surrounded by several small gardens.
