Rayagada is a famous place located in the Southern part of Odisha state. It is also the administrative headquarter of the District Raygada. The majority of the population of the site belongs to the tribal community mainly Khonds and Soras. Maharajah Viswanath Dev Gaja Pati of the Suryavansh dynasty founded the city. The majority of the people here mostly depend upon agriculture as their primary source of income. But the place is the storehouse of some natural beauties like waterfalls, scenic view of mountains, greenery of the forestry and many temples.

Rayagada or Chaiti festival of Rayagada is the major tourist attraction in Rayagada, which is celebrated every year here. The festival started in 2005 to give a significant boost to the tribal community of the areas. More than 500 artists from every part of the country came here. The ancient tribal art and culture is a major attraction here. Pallishree Mela is sometimes celebrated with the Chaioti festival.
